At home I have a Great Encyclopedia of knitting and sewing that I love.
The main reason for my adoration is that this encyclopedia is dated 70 years and I literally go crazy for the revival. I find it fantastic browse those pages a little yellowed colors faded a bit and see photos of models with clothes and hairstyles of the time.

I enjoy browsing these pages! I say no ... but how the beads were fashionable in the 70's? Of modissima! Especially those of small colored beads, plastic or wood and (then a very modern material)! Le istruzioni sono un pò contorte, forse perchè il materiale citato non è oggi così comune...ma si tratta di un'idea facilmente customizable, more 'easy to implement since the images as a reference point than with the instructions.

Gli spazi quotidiani diventano camere simboliche, pisos in spagnolo, indossate come spille, anelli e bracciali sul corpo come metafora dei ruoli che cambiano e si scambiano tra loro. Il nostro corpo è normalmente ospite in una casa che lo accoglie e lo protegge, ma con queste creazioni diventa colui che ospita immaginari luoghi di memoria, vissuto e convivenza.

Lo avete capito, sto parlando del corallo, o meglio, della FORMA del corallo. Sì perchè non mi riferisco al corallo come materiale prezioso usato per la produzione di ornamenti, ma agli ornamenti non in corallo che ne riprendono però la forma, riproducendola artificialmente con altri materiali.

All'inizio la mia attenzione era stata catturata dalle crezioni all'uncinetto di Helle Jorgersen, perchè amo questo filato e le mille forme simpatiche ma anche articolate che si possono creare con esso. E avevo messo da parte il link. Poi, divagando e cercando così, normalmente come mio solito, mi sono imbattuta nell'opera di tanti altri artisti, di tutt'altro genere e ho notato che la forma del corallo ricorreva molto spesso, la medesima suggestione elaborata in maniera diversa.

La domanda è nata spontanea: PERCHE' ? Perchè la "coralloforma" è così usata, imitata, e così attraente per la creazione di gioielli?

Io credo che di motivi ce ne siano diversi, i quali si intrecciano tra loro.
C'è innanzitutto da dire che il corallo, vero o riprodotto che sia, è da sempre usato nella gioielleria,praticamente un classico a cui potersi ispirare sempre, un punto di riferimento
anche stimolante da sfidare, nel senso che è un classico talmente classic that can be both beautiful to use as it is, rather than trying to reinterpret it in an unconventional but linked to it.

Then there is to say that coral is traditionally rich in symbolic meanings, some related to

So I guess that, as the contemporary works are unrelated to these mythological and symbolic implications, it is always a tissue di significati preesistenti e quindi in qualche modo sempre appartenenti al corallo, anche quando chi crea non ne ha la conoscenza, la consapevolezza o semplicemente non vuole trasmetterli.

Il motivo però secondo me piu' vero di questa assidua presenza della "coralloforma" è che appunto, la forma del corallo, è semplicemente bella da vedere . Non è un caso che il motivo del corallo invade anche altri settori della decorazione, specialmente quello dell'arredamento.

Another decisive factor in my opinion of this invasion is that the coral has a tendency to abstract form, allows therefore, different interpretations and formal solutions and aesthetic, from the most 'classic to the most' daring and experimental. I think it is a form si può imitare con verosimiglianza piu' di altre, scomporre e ricomporre, allungare, intrecciare, destrutturare e rievocare anche solo attraverso il colore. E' abbastanza comune e si manifesta simile anche in altri materiali, come rami, legnetti, fili elettrici...

Non so se per suggestione da ricerca ossessiva che mi ha stampato l'immagine del corallo nelle pupille, ma io vedo questa forma rievocata anche quando forse, non vuole esserci. Per esempio, io non so Karin Seufert

se si è ispirata al corallo, molto probabilmente no, ma io questo corallo lo vedo un pò qui...
